November 14, 2016

The City Council of Comfrey met at 5:30 PM Monday, November 14, 2016 at Mike’s Market with all members present but council member Arnsdorf. Mayor Richter presided.  Purpose of the meeting was to canvass the votes of the November 8, 2016 election and any other business brought before the council.

 A resolution certifying the results of the November 8, 2016 election was adopted on motion of Evers, seconded by Schmitt and carried unanimously.  A total of 196 votes were cast, which included both Brown and Cottonwood County residents, the following were declared elected: 

            Mayor (2 year term)     162votes                     Gary Richter

            Council (4 year terms) 169 votes                    Susan Evers

                                              168 votes                    John Schmitt

            On motion of Schmitt, seconded by Kastner and carried unanimously, the following bills were approved:

            Judy Augustin, election judge                                   $356.55

            Tammy Kelly, election judge                                      $206.63

            Julie Fredin, election judge                                         $361.00

            Andrea Toll, election judge                                        $279.90

A land use permit was approved for Manuel DeHoyes to build a car port/garage on a motion made by Schmitt, seconded by Evers and carried unanimously.

The meeting adjourned on motion of Arnsdorf, seconded by Schmitt.
